Watch Borderlands 3’s Gameplay Reveal to Earn Free In-Game Loot

Borderlands Earn the same loot as your favorite streamers. By Adam Bankhurst The Borderlands 3 Gameplay Reveal Event is in just a couple days, and fans around the world will be able to unlock in-game loot for the upcoming title with the Official Borderlands 3 ECHOcast Twitch extension.

The event will take place on May 1 at 10am PT/1pm ET/6pm BST and hundreds of streamers from around the world will be trying out the sequel to 2012’s Borderlands 2 and showcasing gameplay for the first time. As fans of the series watch these streams on Twitch, they will be able to enable the Borderlands 3 ECHOcast Twitch extension by clicking on the small Vault symbol on the bottom of each stream. This will allow players to “look through [their] favorite streamer’s loadout, explore the contents of their backpack, and even poke around their skill tree.” Hovering over any gear will give viewers the same exact stats and info they would see inside a Borderlands game. However, the most exciting part may be the Rare Chest Events. When streamers find a rare chest guarded by powerful enemies and open it, viewers will have 30 seconds to opt in for the chance to receive the same in-game loot from the streamer, scaled to their level when they play and retrieve it from their mailboxes in Borderlands 3. If you are one of the lucky winners, you will have 30 seconds to accept and choose which item you want as your prize. In preparation, be sure to know your login information for your Gearbox SHiFT account or create a new one as you will need to link that account and your Twitch account to participate in the Rare Chest Events. If you don’t link your accounts, you will still be able to use the extension, but won’t be able to claim any rewards. Whether you decide to utilize this extension or not, be sure to join us on May 1 beginning at 9: 30am PT/12: 30pm ET/5: 30pm UK for our pre-show followed by the gameplay reveal a half-hour later. Until then, be sure to check out our other coverage of Borderlands 3, which includes 13 new details we’ve learned since the reveal of Borderlands 3 at PAX East, as well as a breakdown of all the special editions you will be able to choose from when the game launches on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on September 13, 2019.
