Google’s Pixel 4 Beats The OnePlus 7T With Two Features

Whilst Google’s Pixel phones are accomplished at showing off the best of Android, you’ll find more impressive hardware in other devices from OnePlus, Samsung and Huawei.

But an impressive specification sheet isn’t the full story when it comes to what makes a smartphone great. Yes, the OnePlus 7 has better performance and more cutting edge tech – such as the in-display fingerprint reader – than Google’s Pixel 3. The design, too, is nicer and it’s cheaper.

Google, however, doesn’t pay as much attention to the specification war that others participate in because it – perhaps arrogantly – thinks its service-based products make up for other shortcomings. It’s entirely not wrong.

Here’s how the next Pixel 4 can see off the recently released OnePlus 7T.

The world’s search queries are processed through Google, which gives it a built-in advantage over its rivals. This is a large part of how it has been able to make Assistant – Google’s resident artificial intelligence – so much more accomplished than the competition.

Its resources, too, mean it can afford to experiment with that AI and create new services. The Pixel Buds where a perfect example of that. Google’s failed attempt to disrupt the headphone space was poorly executed, but, conceptually, they were brilliant.
