Tactical FPS Nine to Five revealed with a bananas TGA 2019 trailer – Polygon

It looked like we were getting some kind of bizarre, Rabbids-like shooter, but no, that’s just the hook for Nine to Five, a forthcoming tactical first-person shooter from new studio Redhill Games. The game got a trailer and a close-up at tonight’s Game Awards 2019. In Nine to Five, corporations run everything, including armies, and the player’s job is fighting for them, hence the name. Redhill is taking alpha-test signups right now, but its game’s website is, perhaps understandably, a little slow to load. In other words, despite that bonkers and self-effacing intro, Nine to Five looks very much like a serious game. And about that discordant roll-call of industry credits at the beginning: Redhill Games was founded at the end of last year by Matias Myllyrinne, formerly the chief executive of Remedy Entertainment, and also a development executive with Wargaming. Nine to Five apparently is being funded by the investment firm Kowloon Nights, led by Alexis Garavaryan, formerly of ID@Xbox. In a profile in August, Garavaryan described Redhill as working on a free-to-play game. Platforms were not mentioned in Nine to Five’s TGA 2019 appearance, nor was a release window.
