The Sims 4 is free on Origin until May 28, so hurry up

The Sims 4 free download available until May 28 (Source: Origin)Released for Windows in September 2014 and for macOS in February 2015, The Sims 4 received mixed reviews from both the press and the general public. Now, anyone can enjoy it for free thanks to Origin’s generosity. Sadly, only the Windows and macOS variants of the game are part of this deal which will last until May 28. Published by Electronic Arts and developed by Maxis, The Sims 4 is the fourth major title in the popular life simulation series. Initially launched for Microsoft Windows exclusively (September 2014), this title made it to macOS in February 2015. After almost two more years — on November 14, 2017, The Sims 4 also became available for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles.

Now, those looking for freebies can get it for free via Origin. The standard edition of Sims 4 usually goes for US$40 on Origin, so this deal is a good one for those into such games. Anyone can grab a free copy, as long as they have an Origin account — there is no need to have the Access Basic or Premier subscription — and keep it forever. This offer will end on 10 AM PST / 1 PM EST / 5 PM BST on May 28.Shortly after launch, the game received mixed reviews. However, The Sims 4 was greatly improved in the meantime via multiple updates. Unfortunately, the deal does not include DLCs like Get Famous or Seasons, and the console versions of the game are not a part of it. However, being able to claim The Sims 4 for Windows and macOS is still an attractive deal.

I always enjoy listening to music on CD or tape instead of digital files and I will not even get into the touchscreen vs physical keys debate. However, I also enjoy new technology, as I now have the chance to take a look at the future every day. I joined the Notebookcheck crew back in 2013 and I have no plans to leave the ship anytime soon.
